DE111® (Bacillus subtilis)
DE111 is a unique stain of the probiotic Bacillus subtilis and appears to help bolster immune function, and digestive health.* Acting as a competitive exclusionary agent, this organism is capable of controlling other bacterial populations. DE111 can also form spores that serve to protect the organism from harsh conditions such as low pH in the stomach.*
A research study using trained college athletes demonstrated that DE111 helped modulate immune response and recovery following strenuous training. It did this by helping to reduce levels of a pro-inflammatory protein called TNF alpha. Study subjects also reported that GI symptoms improved. In addition, the DE111 supplement resulted in a significant effect on measured gut microflora.*
Bacillus coagulans
Due to its spore-forming ability, Bacillus coagulans is one of the probiotics that remains stable in the low pH of the stomach, and may be helpful with GI issues such as occasional gas, bloating, or constipation.*
Lactobacillus acidophilus
Lactobacillus acidophilus, due to its abundance in the intestinal tract, is possibly the most popular probiotic species, and is continually used to help support a healthy gut, nutrient absorption, immune health, and overall digestion.*
Bifidobacterium lactis
A subspecies of Bifidobacterium animalis, Bifidobacterium a. lactis may help promote gastrointestinal health, and immune function.*
Bifidobacterium longum
Bifidobacterium longum may help support immune function, digestive health and immune function*
Lactobacillus rhamnosus
Lactobacillus rhamnosus is a popular and well-researched probiotic strain used to promote digestive health, and to support immune function.*
Lactobacillus salivarius
Lactobacillus salivarius is a ubiquitous, competitive exclusionary organism naturally found throughout the entire digestive system — from the mouth to the colon — and is therefore used to help support digestive and oral health.*
Lactobacillus casei
Like the closely related Lactobacillus rhamnosus, a member of the Lactobacillus casei group (LCG), Lactobacillus casei is a well-researched strain for its role in supporting healthy digestion and immune response.*
Bifidobacterium breve
Like the closely related Lactobacillus rhamnosus, a member of the Lactobacillus casei group (LCG), Lactobacillus casei is a well-researched strain for its role in supporting healthy digestion and immune response.*
Lactobacillus plantarum
Lactobacillus plantarum has a high tolerance for low pH environments and tends to adapt well to environmental pressures in the body. It is a major Lactobacillus present in the gastrointestinal tracts of healthy individuals, and studies suggest that this species supports immune function and promotes gastrointestinal health.*
